I just returned from a successful 3 dayweekend. We did not have to work on Monday because it was a Tico holiday, “Dia de la Anexion de Guanacaste”. They celebrate the fact that Guanacaste (now a province) was claimed as Costa Rican territory.
We took advantage of our day off and decided that we would spend our ;(last) weekend in the Caribbean side. We rented two bungalows and bought a four hour bus ride to the tropics of Puerto Viejo, Limon.
This beach is amazingly beautiful! Try picturing: hammocks on palm trees, surf boards and bicycles, reggea music, warm ocean water, and pink velvet sunsets. I did not want to leave! The lifestyle there is so laid-back and stress free. We spent our days there relaxing and simply appreciating nature’s beauty. It was definitely one of the most unforgettable weekends here.
Now, I am back at the office and trying to make the best out of my last three days here. My trip is coming to an end although my relationships with the people around me keep growing. Tonight we will race through a go-karting track and Friday we will attend our closure ceremony. I cannot believe my eight weeks in Costa Rica have passed by so quickly!
