More London!

In England by Eller Student

It is hard to believe that it is already July. This past month has been amazing and it is sad to think that my summer in London is almost halfway over. In the last few weeks I have seen and learned so much. I am really enjoying my internship at Reiss, a high end fashion brand. I am working in the press release and marketing department doing various tasks assigned daily by my bosses. I feel very lucky to have gotten an internship with this company because they are very successful and an international company with some locations in the United States.Their business recently has been booming after Kate Midleton wore one of their dresses for her engagement pictures. So far I have enjoyed working very much and I am eager to learn and expand my knowledge in fashion. I am leaving on Wednesday to travel to Barcelona with a few of my roommates. I am very excited because I have not travelled yet and I am going to see some of my friends while in Spain. Many of my friends studied abroad in Barcelona during the spring semester and after hearing how wonderful it was I made it a priority to visit. Fortunately our teachers at FIE gave us a week off of school for travelling, so I am able to spend five days in Barcelona.  It is a bit of a struggle to make travelling plans that work with our work and school schedule thus we are making last minute, on a whim decisions. Near the end of July I am going to Paris and I hope to travel to one more place as well.  I am a little disappointed about missing the fourth of July, but will be celebrating on the way to Barcelona. Outside of work and school I have visited the design museum where I was able to see the Christian Louboutin exhibit, multiple markets, toured parliament, watched Henry V at the Globe Theatre and tonight I will be seeing The Taming of the Shrew. I did not care for Henry V much, but I think I may like The Taming of the Shrew a bit more. The theatre is both standing and sitting and we have standing only tickets for this performance. I would normally enjoy standing but there is a high chance of rain this evening. I have enjoyed my teachers and classes very much and I have benefited from all the out of the classroom experiences. I have been so busy I have not gotten homesick yet and doubt I ever will. I have already experienced so many great things and am excited for what is in store for the second half of my summer in London.
