Bittersweet Goodbye

In Spain by Eller Student

I am currently sitting at the airport waiting for my flight home after the most amazing two months of my life. It is an extremely bittersweet feeling to be going home right now. I am excited to see my family and friends and sleep in my own big bed, but I know I will miss Barcelona deeply.

Completing a summer abroad, not knowing a soul before I left has really helped me grow as a person. I can truly say I am much more independent and mature person now. It was definitely nerve wrecking the first dinner when introductions were being made. There were so many names and faces to remember. However, now I feel like I have made life-long friends that I will never forget. It is extra comforting knowing how many of my good friends go to the same school as me. We plan to have Barcelona reunions often at school to reminisce on the good times and to create new memories that will last.
Overall, this experience was well worth it and I got everything out of it that I expected…and then some!
