As I sit on my first flight of my long travel day, I have had some time to reflect on my decision to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain this summer. Ever since I participated in a short two week study abroad to the Yucatán my junior year of high school, I have been dedicated to finding more ways to broaden my horizons by visiting or living in other countries. I believe this international internship will be the perfect outlet for me to experience international living, global business, and new cultures. In doing so, I hope to expand upon both the Spanish and business courses I have taken while at the University of Arizona to make the most of my collegiate education.
One of my main goals for this trip is to develop a greater understanding of international cultures. I hope that I will be able to fully embrace the cultures of the cities and countries I visit. I firmly believe that experiencing other cultures will help me gain an enhanced global perspective. Because of the effects of international business practices on our own economy, I believe that this global perspective will benefit me and my future employers after I graduate college and enter corporate America. I am so looking forward to this international internship experience and can’t wait to see what Barcelona has in store for me and all of the Dream Careers student interns!
Below is a picture of the view from our new dorm room! The picture doesn’t do it justice, but it’s so peaceful and green-what a beautiful place to live for the summer!
