The Internship Experience

In Spain by Eller Student

By: Robert Roberto

I cannot believe it has already been two weeks since I arrived in this gorgeous, lively city of Barcelona! I quickly learned this opportunity is a life altering experience professionally and personally. After starting my first day at my internship I absorbed a brand new work culture that incorporated a more laid-back  social atmosphere. Typically in the US breaks occur every 4 hours, while in Barcelona workers typically take a break every two or so hours. Also, I learned that many Spanish people speak English conversationally, and in the US it is less common to find someone that is conversational in Spanish.

Aside from working, the traveling through out Europe is one of a kind. I have visited and explored Prague and Ibiza where I have never seen such amazing scenery. In Prague, I was not able to communicate at all which was extremely challenging. As for Ibiza, the island has much to offer from the nightlife to the beaches, and just boating. Overall this has already been one of my most memorable working experience.

The picture to best describe my entire abroad experience so far, being adventurous and just dive into things.
