Gannon Thute, Business Management
Anticipation, excitement, and even some nerves. These would be words to describe how I how feel about the coming summer abroad. I have never been outside of North America, but I am certainly excited for the new, once in a lifetime opportunities sure to present themselves during this trip. As a rising junior, I feel there is no better time than now to explore and travel abroad. I also feel that I could gain no better experience than I will from studying abroad and interning in such an international business hub as London.
While I am unsure as to what I will be doing specifically in London, I am approaching the experience with an open mind, recognizing the fact that this experience is more than just an internship. Hopefully, it will be an experience full of defining memories to last a lifetime. Among other things, I hope to travel throughout Europe, seeing the tourist sites typical of visitors to Europe. However, I also hope to begin and develop relationships with those I encounter this summer. Whether it be friends or locals, I hope to build these relationships so that I can cherish them (and the experience) for many years to come.
Lastly, I can honestly say I don’t know what to expect. I know there will be culture shock, and that I’ll be spending my summer in London. Apart from that, I couldn’t, with any certainty, predict what this summer will entail. However, I intend to keep an open mind and do everything I can to make this the most memorable summer I’ve experienced to date. As they say in the UK: Tally Ho!
