Expectations for Barcelona

In Spain by Eller Student

Freddy Mitchell, Marketing

As my departure date to Barcelona rapidly approaches, I have felt an increasing amount of mixed emotions. I have predominantly been anxious and excited to embark on this incredible journey to the beautiful city of Barcelona. I have not been fortunate enough to travel to Spain, so I am not sure what to expect. The unknown makes me nervous, but also eager to learn about a culture that is foreign to me. My goal is to make the most of this trip by being open to the new culture and taking advantage of the unique opportunities Barcelona has to offer.

My employer, Claro Partners, explores disruptive shifts in society, technology and business to provide business innovations and service design. Prior to being admitted into the Claro Partners internship program, I had an interview with one of their managers. This interviewed eased most of the nerves I had about working in a foreign country. My interview with the Claro Partners’ manager made me extremely excited to begin my work at their Barcelona location. The work of Claro Partners is fascinating to me, and my daily tasks will be appropriate for my major in Marketing. I hope to become an asset to this rapidly expanding business, and learn from their skilled staff.

I have high expectations for my summer in Barcelona, and cannot wait to explore the city. I am extremely thankful for this incredible opportunity and take full advantage of it.
